Where We're Waking . Morty & Bob's

Tucked away in Netil House with some of our favourite places in East London (Glasshouse Salon, Tempo Pilates - here's looking at you) Morty & Bob's is one of the most enjoyable brunch spots in town. With bare brick plant-lined walls, open kitchen and panoramic views across London, Morty & Bobs is like the Brooklyn loft of every hipsters dreams. Thankfully the restaurant not only looks great, but serves delicious food too.

Whilst we're constantly on the verge of reaching peak avocado on toast, Morty & Bob's do a smashing version - on thick sourdough topped with feta, chilli and poached eggs; proof that the well-loved combination is a classic for a reason. Other standout dishes include wild mushrooms on toast with wild rocket pesto topped with a fried egg; lashings of oil and garlic make this dish one of the best we've enjoyed in a long while. If you're after something a touch more indulgent, Morty & Bob's (which began life as a toastie street-food stall) are best known for their grilled cheese sandwiches - it's the ultimate comfort food, especially if you've had a big night.

We've got a soft spot for any eatery that has oat milk flat whites on the drinks menu - another reason we keep coming back. Made with Allpress, the coffee is always on point and they offer a good selection of plant-based milks. Morty & Bobs is a fun daytime spot so next time you're on Broadway Market or in London Fields, swing by for a tasty brunch and cup of coffee. Soak up the atmosphere, eat delicious food, take in the views and feel like you're in Friends all at the same time. What more could you want from brunch?!
