It's fair to say that the Summer thus far has been a bit of a washout; besides that one glorious week in June, the sun has come and gone quicker than you can say 'beach?'. Whilst we're still hopeful for a scorching September, we'll soon be packing our bags to join Obonjan islanders for a week of wellness.
Located just off the south Croatian coast between Split and Zadar, Obonjan island plays host to a two-month long creative programme of wellness, music, art and food. Previously uninhabited, the island was revived last year as a destination for festival-goers seeking more than just good music and guaranteed sun.
Alongside traditional festival activities such as live music (from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Roy Ayers) there's a huge emphasis on wellbeing, with guests encouraged to make the most of their natural surrounding. Excursions to local beauty spots, talks with wellness experts and on site restaurants serving fresh, organic produce are just some of the events planned.
We'll be waking up islanders from the 19th - 23rd August with a series of morning workshops including yoga and sunrise walks. Fancy taking a break from the daily grind? Find out all the information you need on the Obonjan website here.
