Festive Cocktails

With Christmas only a few weeks away, parties and festive dinners are already in full swing; almost every evening and weekend from here on in are consumed with social engagements and opportunities to eat mince pies for dinner.

If you're hosting your own Christmas soiree this month and want to treat your guests to something other than prosecco, we've put together a few of our favourite cocktails - including a few special alcohol free ideas for when it all gets a bit too much.

NEGRONI

Ingredients
25ml HER Home Brew Coffee
25ml Gin
25ml Campari
5ml Maple Syrup
Slice of orange

Method
In a chilled mixing glass add all ingredients with half fill with ice. Stir for 5-10 seconds to allow all of the flavours to melt together. Strain into an ice filled tumbler glass. Garnish with a slice of orange.

GARDEN BOOCH

Ingredients
50ml Seedlip Garden 108
Passion fruit kombucha, to top
Fresh mint, to serve

Method
Fill a chilled tumbler or long glass with ice and add the Seedlip. Top with kombucha and mix gently. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

VEGAN EGGNOG

Ingredients
1 cup soaked cashew nuts
2 Medjool dates, soaked overnight and drained
1 tin coconut milk
2 cups water
1/3 tsp Himalayan pink salt
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 - 1/2 cups rum to taste (optional)

Method
Blend all ingredients together in a blender on high speed till smooth. It may take a few minutes for the mixture to become creamy and uniform; be patient. Serve warm or cold.

DANIELLE COPPERMAN'S HOT TODDY

Ingredients
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup fresh ginger juice
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp orange juice, optional
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 stick cinnamon
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
2 cloves
1 star anise
Pinch of cayenne pepper

Method
Add all of the ingredients to medium pan and bring to the boil.  Reduce the heat and simmer for 12 minutes. Add more sweetener or lemon, to taste. Add alcohol, if using, and simmer for a further 5 minutes, Sieve the liquid into a jug and serve instantly.

MATCHA MOJITO

Ingredients
50ml Kamm & Sons
1/4 tsp matcha powder
8 mint leaves
20ml lime juice
25ml manuka honey syrup (1 part honey to 1 part hot water)
50ml apple juice

Method
In the bottom of the glass, crush the mint, green tea powder and lime juice together until dissolved. Add the other ingredients plus ice and stir well. Garnish with mint
