Qnola is a range of nutritionally enhanced breakfast products made from highly nutritious, natural ingredients. The idea behind Qnola was to develop a truly healthy alternative to commercial cereals, which are often highly processed and high in sugar, gluten, additives and preservatives. Although many of these products are advertised as 'skinny', 'light' or 'low fat' this doesn't make them healthy. Qnola is made using nourishing ingredients, all of which are natural, wholesome sources of essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and sustainable energy. These are ingredients that have incredible benefits for your body yet still taste amazing. All Qnola products are paleo, vegan and free from refined sugar, wheat, gluten and grains.

 Qnola is made primarily from quinoa - a fibrous seed considered as the only plant food to be a complete protein. It is rich in essential nutrients and antioxidants and helps reduce inflammation – a common side-effect of oats and other cereals. Qnola is the first grain-free breakfast product made with this form of quinoa and is the prefect way to start the day. Low in only natural sugar, with a low glycemic index, Qnola doesn’t trigger sugar rushes which usually result in cravings. Each flavour of Qnola contains a unique combination of raw nuts, coconut flakes, desiccated coconut, chia seeds and superfood powders. These ingredients work together to elevate the fibre, protein and antioxidant levels in Qnola, which can aid digestion, increase concentration and energy levels, keep you fuller for longer, regulate natural appetite, support healthy skin, hair and nails and even detoxify the body. DANIELLE COPPERMAN

Danielle is a full-time model, qualified nutritionist (dip), food writer and chef based in London. She has been modelling for five years and since the job depends heavily on the way you look, feel and act, has become increasingly aware of the importance of her dietary choices. Following plenty of research, studying part-time and learning through personal experience, Danielle began to understand and experience the benefits that come with eating natural, wholesome ingredients, and cutting out processed and refined foods from her diet completely.

Giving up sugar and grains meant giving up traditional granolas and the lack of it left her feeling lost in the mornings, and in search of a healthy alternative - something which, at this point, didn't exist on the market. She began to make her own gluten-free granola using different seeds such as buckwehat, amaranth and quinoa, and when friends, family and Instagram followers loved it, they encouraged her to create it for the masses. The recipe has developed a lot from the first experiment in her kitchen, and contains her favourite superfoods and a nutritious selection of nuts and seeds, to make a range of honest, reliable breakfast goods.

QUINOA

Quinoa is the main ingredient used in Qnola. It is incredibly high in protein and contains all essential amino acids, which are like building blocks for the body, and which support healthy growth and repair. Quinoa was lauded as "the food of the gods" by Incan warriors who relied on it to get them through long expeditions and battles, which is why it makes such a brilliant breakfast choice, providing reliable energy to see you through the day.

Although it has the same physical features as most grains, quinoa is not a grain but a seed. It is much higher in fibre and protein, and has far more nutrients. It is also easier to digest and doesn't cause inflammation in the body, something a lot of people experience as a side effect of eating grains. Its high level of fibre aids digestion and contributes to reducing and regulating blood pressure. Quinoa also has a low glycemic index, meaning it won't cause spikes in blood sugar levels like certain other grains and carbohydrates can. Quinoa is high in essential vitamins and minerals, as well as micronutrients such as magnesium and iron, healthy fats and phytonutrients, all of which are essential to our health and in ensuring our bodies are functioning optimally.

CHIA SEEDS

Chia seeds are classed as a superfood and are higher in omega 3 fatty acids than any other plant food source. These fatty acids are essential for general wellbeing and support healthy cellular functions, as well as contributing to healthy, glowing skin. The tiny seeds expand inside the body and when added to liquid, keeping you hydrated and feeling fuller for longer, which helps to regulate natural appetite and prevent cravings. They are a concentrated source of powerful nutrients, vitamins and minerals and are incredibly rich in antioxidants. Chia seeds are incredibly high in fibre which aids digestion and supports metabolism. 

COCONUT

A superfood high in lauric acid and MCT (medium-chained fatty acids), coconut is an incredibly beautifying ingredient and has even been proven to help burn fat. It can be used to protect and moisturise skin, hair and nails and the lauric acid it contains can kill bacteria, viruses and fungi, helping to ward of infections and keep your body functioning healthily. The fatty acids in coconut can boost brain function too, and this, along with the high levels of protein, makes it a brilliant food to incorporate into your morning meal for improved energy levels and concentration.

HIMALAYAN PINK SALT

Himalayan Pink Salt is the purest form of salt, lower in sodium than your average, largely-refined table salt, and completely free from any unnatural chemicals or additives. The hues of pink, red and white found in Himalayan pink salt are indicative of its rich and varied vitamin and mineral content. These salts are packed with over 80 minerals and elements formed naturally within the earth.

Benefits of Himalayan Pink Salt include creating an electrolyte balance in the body, increasing hydration, regulating water content both within and outside of the cells, reducing muscle cramps, aiding metabolism, helping the intestines to absorb nutrients more effectively, detoxifying the body and improving circulation.

RAW NUTS & SEEDS

Nuts are concentrated sources of antioxidants, vitamins, nutrients and micronutrients. These vitamins are essential in protecting, supporting and renewing our cells, which is what contributes to glowing skin and hair, elevated energy levels and a healthy metabolism. 
Kept raw so as to obtain as much goodness as possible, the nuts and seeds we use increase the levels of protein, fibre and healthy fats in Qnola. Nuts are high in omega 3 fatty acids which do amazing things for your skin, hair, nails, brain cells, internal organs and bone and joint health.The energy they provide is long lasting, too, meaning you will feel full, and satisfied for longer. 

 


FUNCTIONAL FLAVOURINGS

RAW CACAO
Cacao is the purest and most nutritious form of chocolate. It is completely unrefined and hasn't undergone any intense processes, like most forms of normal chocolate have. Cacao is a superfood containing essential vitamins, minerals, micronutrients and antioxidants. It is one of the richest sources of antioxidants, in fact, and with such a variety of them, can promote healthy cellular activity (neutralising damaging free radicals in the body)  and improve circulation. It is also high in fibre and can stimulate the production of digestive enzymes, which helps support healthy digestion. Many people also believe it may aid weight loss or maintenance, as it can act as an appetite suppressant. It also contains serotonin, which is a 'happy hormone' which helps to improve your mood and positivity.

BEETROOT
Beetroot powder is a superfood abundant in antioxidants and contains high levels of essential vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. These antioxidants fight against disease-causing free radicals in the body and also support healthy, glowing skin by counteracting signs of ageing. Beetroot has been proven to support brain function and its iron content helps to reduce fatigue, increase concentration and elevate energy levels to keep you functioning for longer.

VANILLA
Organic vanilla extract intensifies the flavour of the original blend of Qnola and increases its level of antioxidants. The antioxidants found in Vanilla have been proven to aid digestion and also protect the skin from environmental assaults responsible for things like ageing. Vanilla is also a good source of essential oils, vitamins and minerals, and is known to improve and balance skin tone.

GOJI BERRIES
Goji berries are tiny concentrated sources of essential vitamins and minerals. They can be used as a natural remedy to treat ailments such as colds, diabetes and high blood pressure. Some people believe that goji berries improve sleep, mental wellbeing and general moods, and many find it helps in treating digestive complications, due to their high fibre content. Again, they are a rich source of antioxidants - great for healthy skin and counteracting damage caused by foreign chemicals invading the body.

CINNAMON
Cinnamon is a powerful spice. It has been proven to help balance blood sugar levels and is used to help treat infections and illnesses as well as muscle and joint complications. It also supports healthy metabolism and regulates appetite, and is considered one of the top antioxidants in the world. Its levels of antioxidants helps reduce inflammation and disease in the body, by protecting against harmful free radicals.

GINGER
Ginger has been known as a healing ingredient for decades. It has been proven an effective remedy for nausea and is thought to prevent colds and flu. It improves absorption of essential nutrients in the body, and contains antioxidants which detoxify the body. One of its most desirable qualities is its ability to reduce inflammation and combat discomfort in the stomach. Ginger is a crucial part of my morning regime as it cleanses my body on an empty stomach meaning I can start the day feeling renewed and comfortable, instead of feeling sluggish.

WHAT IS QUINOA?
Quinoa is a fibrous seed high in protein, amino acids and antioxidants. Physically similar to common grains, Quinoa is a popular option for people following living a grain-free, paleo lifestyle or simply keen to reduce the amount of grains in their diet. Although grains offer a host of benefits, for many people they are tough to digest. Additionally, many grains contain gluten or at least traces of gluten, and with a widespread increase in intolerances and allergies, we wanted to provide a gluten and wheat free option, with even more protein, added nutrients, unique flavour and genuine integrity to nourish and fuel the body and soul.

WHY IS QNOLA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BREAKFAST CEREALS / GRANOLAS?
Qnola is handmade in the UK using Quinoa sourced from local British farmers. All of our products are free from gluten, dairy, refined sugar, trans fats and artificial chemicals (such as additives, flavourings, colourings and preservatives). Not only are most mainstream and commercial cereals are made with wheat, they also contain vast amounts of refined sugar and / or naturally occurring sugars. We prefer to use natural sugars in our products that can also contribute to their nutritional profile. Whilst we do include a little coconut sugar to add flavour to our products, we don't advocate eating too much sugar, especially first thing in the morning! Although it provides an instant boost in mood and energy, this 'peaking too soon' only results in crashing too soon too. Depending on sugar for energy is an unsustainable habit to get into, and has also been proven to contribute to disease and inability to control weight. Sugar also comes with physical side effects, such as tiredness, disrupted sleep, skin imbalances, cellulite and other conditions, so keep it on the low (and beware of products containing high levels of even natural sugars!) Qnola is different because, whilst we reduce the amount of wheat, gluten and sugar, we increase the amount of truly nourishing ingredients that you won't find in common food products. They are more expensive, but in our opinion, they are so worth it.

HOW SHOULD I EAT QNOLA?
Qnola should be eaten just they way conventional cereals and granolas are. Serve either with milk or plant-based milks like a bowl of cereal, or sprinkle on top of yoghurt or plant-based yoghurt with your choice of fruits, compotes, nut butters and any other toppings you desire. We also love adding an extra sprinkle of medicinal herbs, adaptogens, powdered algae and tonic herbs, such as maca, cacao, reishi, he shou wu, wheatgrass and spirulina, for elevated health benefits (many of which you will find either in our full time flavours or in our limited edition products from time to time).

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST ONCE IVE OPENED THE PACKET?
Qnola has a shelf life of 9 months from production. Refer to the Best Before label on your pouch, and to keep it as fresh as possible once opened, re-seal tightly and store in a cool, dry place.

The Almond & Vanilla is an ideal starting point and is popular amongst our new and returning customers. If you like something a little sweeter, the Beetroot is an unlikely but unbeatable option. And if you always go for the chocolate option, try the Cacao & Cashew, but be prepared for its rich and bitter flavour - it's not as sweet as commercial chocolate products.

CAN I EAT QNOLA AS A SNACK?
You sure can. We love it straight from the pouch as a dry snack, or added to other nuts and dried ingredients to create a unique trail mix. You can also eat breakfast anytime of the day, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
